It sets the mood. Lighting is an emotional as well as visual art form. It is also often a very arduous and tedious process. 

Though basic lighting can be established most lighting is a done on a trial and error basis. That is until now. Technology in all theatre tech areas have improved vastly over the last decade and lighting is no exception. If you are looking for lighting design, there's an app for that. 

Capture Sweden is one such program. Capture is a computer aided design software for lighting design. Capture is a  native  Windows and Mac OS application. It comes with a library of fixtures that allows the user to design with lights,video, moving scenery, lasers and even water jets.

Capture is compatible and can connect directly with High End and MA lighting consoles as well as any console that support CITP brands. This means if you have a compatible system it can run your lights as well as design them.

Capture supports Sketch up and 3DS/OBJ files.  Once files are uploaded you can use them as templates and play with fixtures, colors, intensities, and angles.
